Past Projects in Afghanistan
Wafia Educational Training Center for Orphans (WETCO)
AAOH raised funds to help pay WETCO teacher’s salaries. Purchased ten bikes for the teachers serving WETCO, for needed transportation, fabric for new uniforms, school supplies, VCR and Boom boxes for educational training and a baby buggy for the female teacher who was not allowed to ride a bike because she was a woman.
Medical Educational and Peace Organization (MEPO)
MEPO was founded in 1997 in Innsbruck, Austria by Ensieh Edinger-Taheri, Dr. Mostafa Vaziri and a group of concerned and dedicated individuals with the goal of serving the needy people through the contributions of time, money, medicines and supplies made by caring, supportive people around the world.
Dr. Vaziri, a physician, then launched MEPO into action in June 1998 by founding the House of Flowers Orphanage in Afghanistan and the work continues to this day.
