Afghanistan, May 2002: took relief materials and funding to WETCO, Wafia Educational and Training Center for Orphan children (two week trip). Went as part of a Reconstruction and Education Delegation organized by Global Exchange.

Co-founder of Afghan Academy of Hope, a grass roots organization committed to creating hope, reducing poverty and supporting education and mental health for the children of Afghanistan. AAOH is collaborating with Ambassadors for Children (AFC) www.ambassadorsforchildren.org a non profit organization to bring relief to the children of Afghanistan.

In response to the terrorist activities on September 11, 2001 began fundraising efforts to help reopen the Malalai hospital (Afghan Women’s Mission in Los Angeles) for Afghan women and children refugees on the Afghan and Pakistan border. Efforts included the organization of an event at the Earl Warren Show grounds, Santa Barbara California, attended by over a 1000 participants. The Malalai Hospital was reopened in November 2001.

Completed the Curriculum for Living through Landmark Education, in February 2002.

Studied financial management and investment strategies with Robert Kiyosaki, Dolf de Roos and David Novac. Graduate of Investing Fundamentals Course 2001 plus Advanced Courses 2001

Established a 501(c) (3) charitable support organization to benefit and facilitate work with children’s and abused women’s organizations and educational programs.

In 1999 began (with partners) an educational materials distribution company. Supplementary educational materials for K through 12 grades are funded for charter and home schooling programs in California, Oregon, Arizona, New York, Ohio, Texas and American schools in Europe.

Continued activities of business development, and personal management through Internet Services Corporation 1998 to 2001.

Independent Senior Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics from1982 to 1996. Generated $250,000 in sales annually, managing and training up to 75 associates. Extensive training and teaching experience in personal development skills, business development, management, product development and distribution, personal financial management, personal motivation and coaching.

  • Youth organization - 6 years
  • Women's organization - 10 years
Studied child psychology in college.

Youth community service included 2 years as a Candy Striper and 1 year volunteer work with disabled and mentally challenged children.

She is married to Scott M. Haskins and they are the parents of seven children and three grandchildren.
